Video Library

A collection of short film and video projects produced by We Drink it Black for, well, mostly just for heck of it. There may be additional bits floating around the WDIB MySpace page, Vimeo, Facebook, YouTube, etc... if you like what you see here go google-fishing on those sites too :-)

Dreaming in Color

I miss those funky old Art of Noise videos. Of course they would say "colour" instead of "color". The score is called "Approximate Mood Swing no. 2" from "The Seduction of Claude Debussy" album. Go buy a copy for the full retail price. It's amazing.

I've been an Art of Noise fan forever. The very first recording I purchased with my own money was their "In Visible Silence" cassette, which is in frequent rotation on my iPod to this day.

I like to think that they've been working toward creating this song for 20 years. No. 2 makes me very happy :-)

My excuse for making this was a color theory assignment in camera techniques class -- those were the days. This short features Natalie Johnson.

Persephone's Last Day

Starring Natalie Johnson. Assisted by Ben Yennie.

Persephone wiles away the afternoon before being taken for her annual stint in Hades.

This was an exercise in using various lens lengths, and rack-focus practice. This was also my first experiment with the Panasonic HVX200 P2 (yay -- real overcranking without film) and my first experiment shooting in HD (720p/24).

It came out well enough I thought I would share. Enjoy :-)

Mesa Verde: Rocks and Ravens

A short video of our tour of Mesa Verde in 2007. The quote at the end comes from Jared Diamond's book "Collapse".

It's a little shaky, but I was more interested in being on vacation than camera stabilization ;-)

The Jealous Robot

My first ever attempt at editing something. Created on a snowy day long, long ago. I love Forbidden Planet.

Robie the Robot schools some earthmen to the House of Pain song Jump Around.

If Necessity is the mother of Invention, then Laziness is his deadbeat father. And Greed is his gold-digging wife.
