My reinterpretation of Fritz Lang's Metropolis.
Welcome to the world of Metropolis, where the lords frolic above while the workers toil below. Freder, son of the master of metropolis, falls for a worker missionary. Meanwhile his father finds a solution to the worker problem -- replace them with robots!
Watch all four installments in order. This is my tribute to a fundamental work of literature that is all to difficult to find.
While the original is widely considered a masterpiece, my tribute has been to recut the only footage I could find to fit a piece of favorite music (Escape the Body by DJ Dragon -- not to everyone's taste but I like it ;-).
Nearly every cut has been tightened or rearranged, reducing the running time to an hour.
This project was my first foray into Final Cut after completely outgrowing iMovie. It was completed years before I enrolled at film school. It took about a month to edit, working a few hours each night after work.
